On April 6 the government took steps to release the names, date of birth and address of all patients who tested positive for the virus to police, firefighters and paramedics across the province. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) took issue with this and wanted the province to be firm on what the information could and couldn’t be used for. The CCLA was not even sure that the sharing of personal health information was necessary or legal in this case. The Toronto Police Service on the other hand said, last Friday, that they have not accessed the database and are still looking into Terms of Use. It is not clear which first responders are currently actively using this information at the given time.
