Russia reported its fourth record single-day increase in COVID-19 cases, with a total of 10,633 new cases announced on Sunday. The country’s total is now approaching 135,000 cases, with Moscow accounting for over half of these. The Russian Defense Ministry has reported outbreaks of cases across the country’s military academies. Anger among healthcare workers is rising, after two dozen hospitals were shut down for quarantines and many workers fell sick due to lack of proper PPE. In response to rising numbers, Russia has extended its isolation period past May 11.
