The city of Wuhan is currently undergoing a massive COVID-19 testing campaign following the report of clusters of new cases in the city. The new cases were asymptomatic carriers of the virus and their discovery spurred the authorities to enlist mass testing of all its 11 million inhabitants. The local health authorities reported on Friday that 113,609 tests were administered, which is a number 50% higher than the day prior. However, some people have expressed concerns that mass gathering at testing sites may pose a new infection risk and others have also questioned its effectiveness.
