Increase COVID-19 Testing Capacity in Canada

Type: Petition

Description: “As of March 21, 2020, only 88,249 Canadians have been tested for COVID-19, with a total of 1,329 confirmed cases, 16 recoveries, and 19 deaths. Testing is critical for understanding the extent of infection and how best to distribute our limited resources. One barrier to increasing testing capacity is a shortage of trained personnel. There are similar problems with shortages of key equipment and supplies.”

Canada for COVID Containment

Type: Petition

Description: “We are calling on all levels of government to increase testing of citizens by existing COVID-19 clinics or by creating other innovative large scale testing sites. To increase testing capacities in all labs across the country. To loosen restrictions of public health so that an army of reduced work medical students, residents and physicians and nurses can be trained to strengthen this backbone to assist in contact tracing, isolating and follow up of ALL patients. We call on young tech savvy people to assist in ways that patients or contacts can be informed or updated and supported to self isolate with apps or other methods.  We have seen this achieve containment in South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Israel to the benefit and health of their population.”
