Quebec school boards provide a glimpse of the new normal in classrooms

As Quebec plans to open up its elementary schools and daycares next week on May 11, the government is releasing information to the public on what that will look like. This planned opening will apply to facilities outside of the Montreal area, with the hopes of those in Montreal returning to schools and daycares the following week. The planned social distancing measures will include limiting class sizes to 15 students, two metre physical distancing, no physical education, music, drama or art classes, and no use of play structures during recess breaks. Some of the province’s school boards have raised concerns with this plan. As it is voluntary, it will be up to parents to decide if they are comfortable sending their children back to school and daycare.
